Today I will discuss with you from my nearly 25 years of construction field experience why bath remodels take so long here in East brunswick New Jersey, Monroe township New Jersey, Old Bridge township New Jersey.
Material sourcing - It takes time and effort to find everything to want to see and have in your bath remodel.
Scheduling - Having everything in order.
Home preparation - Making sure the contractor has room in your home to stage and be efficient with you project. Making sure any animals are put away or off site for duration of project.
Which kind of contractor to hire - Do you want to manage the project and hire each trade speacialty? Or do you want to hire one contractor like a General contractor to handle everything?
Expect the un- expected - Some people call if murphys law. Thing happen and do not be surprised if they do.
Under estimating - Most contractors including myself sometimes under estimate the duration of a project, even after years and years of experience.
Bathroom structure rot / mechanicals - Most times the subfloor and sometime the joists need to be replaced, as well as some plumbing.
Delays - Expect these. Permit delays. Different trades not be able to start in the scheduled time frame or finish in the allowed time frame.
