Reasons showers leak

You are here because you want to know why your tiled walk in shower is leaking or may be leaking. I will list from my experience what I have seen why a walk in shower will leak. In no specific order.

• No waterproofing or lack of waterproofing

• Waterproofing not installed correctly

• Waterproofing at shower drain connection failed or not installed correctly

• In rare cases the shower drain plumbing, or plumbing supply lines

Thats really it. Sad thing it most walk in showers are not installed correctly and lead to failures, which I get called for on a weekly basis .

Most important thing is that your hire a well skilled tradesman and or contractor that has some one who will properly build your shower, which will see more water than your roof.
